Obesity is a major issue in the US. Many Southern states are taking the crown for having the highest obesity rates. Something has got to give!
Miss. has been named the most obese state with a 36 percent obesity rate. Adults in Ala., Ark., Ind., La., Ky., Mo., Okla., S.C., and Texas have a 30 percent obesity rate. These southern states are taking the crown for obesity rates and aren’t helping their situation by cooking fatty, greasy, and unhealthy foods.
This epidemic has even reached the younger generations. Approximately 17 percent of children 2-19 are obese. Since 1980, obesity rates among children and adolescents have tripled.
